USD/CAD Turns Bullish as GBP/USD and AUD/USD Lose Momentum

The US Dollar is regaining ground against several major currencies as traders reassess the outlook for Federal Reserve policy ahead of the Jackson Hole symposium. USD/CAD remains technically bullish above the 1.3850 area, while GBP/USD and AUD/USD are showing signs of losing momentum.

The latest US inflation data has strengthened the case for keeping interest rates higher for longer. July headline PCE inflation rose to 3.7% year over year, while markets increased the probability of a September Federal Reserve rate hike. This has provided fresh support for the US Dollar.

USD/CAD Technical Outlook

USD/CAD remains above the 1.3850 support zone, keeping the short-term bullish structure intact. A sustained move above recent highs could strengthen the upside momentum, while a break back below 1.3850 would weaken the bullish setup.

The Canadian Dollar is also sensitive to oil prices and developments in US-Canada trade relations, adding another layer of uncertainty to the pair.

GBP/USD and AUD/USD

GBP/USD has started to retreat after recently trading near multi-month highs, while AUD/USD is also showing signs of slowing momentum. The Australian Dollar remains sensitive to both domestic inflation expectations and Federal Reserve policy.

If the US Dollar continues to strengthen, further downside pressure could develop in GBP/USD and AUD/USD. However, a dovish signal from Fed Chair Kevin Warsh at Jackson Hole could reverse the recent Dollar recovery.

Market Outlook

The 1.3850 level in USD/CAD remains an important technical area to watch. Holding above this level keeps the near-term bias constructive, while a decisive break below it could signal a deeper correction.

Attention now turns to Federal Reserve communication and the Jackson Hole symposium, where policy guidance could determine whether the Dollar's recovery continues.
