Ethereum Price Breakout Targets $2,800 as ETF Inflows Surge

Ethereum (ETH) has extended its recent rally, gaining around 27% over the past week as strong buying interest, ETF inflows and a wave of short covering push the cryptocurrency above key technical levels. US spot Ethereum ETFs have attracted around $1.2 billion in August, highlighting a significant increase in institutional demand.

The latest rally has lifted ETH above the $2,000 level and strengthened its broader technical structure. However, the sharp advance has also increased the risk of a short-term correction, particularly if traders begin taking profits after the strong move.

Technical Outlook

The $2,200 area is an important support level for Ethereum. Holding above this zone would help preserve the current bullish structure and could allow ETH to continue toward the $2,800 target.

A sustained move above recent resistance could strengthen the breakout setup, while a decisive break below $2,200 would increase the risk of a deeper retracement toward lower support levels.

ETF Inflows Support Bullish Sentiment

Institutional demand has become an important driver of the recent Ethereum rally. Ethereum ETFs recorded strong inflows during August, including a $189 million single-day inflow on August 19, while recent data also shows continued demand from spot Ethereum ETFs.

The combination of ETF demand and short covering has helped accelerate ETH's recovery. However, sentiment has also become significantly more optimistic, increasing the possibility of profit-taking and volatility.

Market Outlook

Ethereum's broader outlook remains constructive while ETH holds above $2,200. A successful breakout through nearby resistance could open the way toward $2,800, while a failure to hold support could trigger a retest of lower levels before another attempt higher.

For now, traders are watching $2,200 support and $2,800 resistance/target as the key levels for the next major move.
