The Dow Jones Industrial Average is trading slightly below the 53,500 level on Wednesday, with the index around 100 points lower as investors digest the latest US economic data. The market has shown limited reaction to upward revisions to several second-quarter inflation measures.

The second estimate of US second-quarter GDP kept real growth unchanged at an annualized 1.5%, while the GDP price index was revised higher to 6.4% from 6.3%. Quarterly headline PCE inflation was also revised to 5.3% from 5.1%, while core PCE prices increased to 3.7% from 3.4%.

Despite the revisions, the monthly July core PCE reading came in at 0.2% month over month and 3.3% year over year, broadly matching expectations. Personal income increased 0.4%, while consumer spending rose 0.2%, leaving real consumer spending broadly unchanged.

Technical Outlook

The 53,500 area remains an important level for the Dow. Immediate resistance is around 53,700–53,800, while support is seen near 53,400, followed by 53,200 and the 53,000 psychological level. A sustained move above 53,800 could improve the short-term technical picture, while a break below 53,400 would increase downside risk.

Market Outlook

Attention now turns toward major market catalysts, particularly Nvidia's earnings and upcoming Federal Reserve communication. Higher Treasury yields and persistent inflation remain potential headwinds for equities, while strong corporate earnings could provide support.

For now, the Dow remains close to record territory but below key resistance, leaving 53,500–53,800 as an important zone for the next directional move.
